Properly ordering our lives is about putting first things first. When it comes to productivity, the first thing isn’t focus or even discipline but rather clarity. If you aren’t clear about what is worth investing in and what will lead you to deeper meaning, there is a real danger that focus and discipline will only lead you to become remarkably good at achieving the wrong things.
Or as Thomas Merton once said, “People may spend their whole lives climbing the ladder of success only to find, once they reach the top, that the ladder is leaning against the wrong wall.”
THIS WEEK: What are you currently chasing? Consider whether your top goals actually align with your deeper purpose, or if they are simply distracting you from what is really important in your life.
All the best,
